From the Desk of Dr. Donna:
March 2, 2009
Dear Friend,
In the last few months, a frightening trend has been emerging among my nutrition clients, one I call, The V Phenomenon.
V stands for vanadium, a trace element that is thought to be needed in our diet in very small amounts.
This trace element is known by some diabetics because it has been used as a supplement for blood sugar regulation. Weight lifters may know it because vanadium has been touted as a supplement that improves lifting ability.
Just Tell Me Why!
The frightening trend started when one of my clients called in March 2008 and said her daughter was in the hospital because she had insulin-dependent diabetes. There was no diabetes in the family history anywhere. Diabetes essentially showed up overnight. She wanted me to help her discover why her daughter had diabetes.
The Answer Appeared
We ran a hair analysis test and within a few weeks we had the answer: her daughter had toxic levels of vanadium which destroyed the pancreas. Vanadium wreaks havoc with the body in a lot of other ways, too, and I will explain that in my book.
A Problem that Affects Many
Over the next months, more and more clients started showing up with high vanadium levels. Almost every one of them had problems with their weight, with blood sugar regulation, with diabetes and with cravings for sweets. High vanadium is now becoming more and more common and it's poisoning Americans. This is the V Phenomenon.
I began researching The V Phenomenon so that people would become aware of the problem and not wake up one day with diabetes themselves.
In my newly released book, The V Phenomenon: Vanadium's Role in Diabetes, you will learn:
- Where the vanadium is coming from, and if you are directly exposed
- How to determine what your body's vanadium level is
- What foods are good sources of vanadium
- How vanadium helps - or causes - diabetes
- What to do if you have high levels of vanadium
- What to do if your vanadium levels are low
- and more
No Warning Signs
The big problem is that there are no warning signs if your vanadium level is too high. Unless you know your vanadium level, it is possible that you may end up just like my client's daughter - not knowing until your pancreas shuts down completely and you need to start insulin! Discover the vanadium - diabetes connection before it's too late.
